Surely you heard about #ARCHIVEBYALEXA back in May? The 31 piece collection curated by Alexa Chung for Marks & Spencer took inspiration from the past with reimagined classics based on pieces Alexa discovered in the M&S archive based in Leeds. And now, IT'S BACK.
Before I tantalise you with details about the next drop, let's talk about the first collection..
It essentially evoked classic, St Michael stalwart style that threw it back to the 70's/80's. The Frances trench was an instant hero - practical, boxy but with a fash-on (ha) edge. And tartan details. Who could resist?*
*not me, obv.
The Harry blouse/dress captured hearts with it's pie crust neckline. This was the piece the press fell in luuurve with.
And the delicate Hattie camis did all the right things in the 'underwear as outwear' space.
My personal favourites were the Martha sandals. Amongst my pals they proved to be pretty love-hate but something about the strappy set up and slightly off oblong heel did all the right things for me,
For the launch, Alexa rocked up to Marble Arch (our flagship store) to intro the collection and take hundreds of selfies with fans.
(I settled for a stealthy stalker snap.)
This is my gorgeous pal Alexa (no not that Alexa). She did an incredible job on the launch. And werrrrrked that tea dress.
The second collection is called 'Winter Archive By Alexa' and launches in November.
"For this second collection I wanted to focus on a more luxe evening wear vibe to lead us into the winter party season and was thrilled to once again discover an abundance of inspiration within the Marks & Spencer archive,” says Alexa.
You can sign up to be first in line for more information as soon as it drops

ARGH. I'm excited and terrified for my bank account in equal measure.
