So tell me, how often do you actually buy yourself a bottle of perfume?

If you're in the same boat as me, that answer is likely to be errrrm, never. For the past few years my student sized budget has meant getting hold of a shiny new bottle was strictly limited to christmas and birthday affairs, so imagine my delight when I discovered Lidl stocked two brilliant designer perfume dupes at less than £4 each!

First up, 'Suddenly Madame Glamour'. Naff bottle and tacky name aside, this is a brilliant match for Chanel's iconic Coco Mademoiselle. Granted, a quick comparison with my flatmates real deal version made it clear it doesn't last as long nor does it have quite the same depth of scent. It smells really really similar, but you may find you need to top up in the afternoon.

Their second offering, 'Suddenly Diamonds', is a brilliant dupe for Hugo Boss BOSS Orange. A zingy scent with notes of citrus and vanilla. I'm talking i-d-e-n-t-i-c-a-l here, plus the bottle feels much sleeker without the dodgy plastic lid sported by 'Suddenly Madame Glamour'.

Word on the street is that the high street is hiding lots of perfume smell-a-likes. Look out for Zara Woman Gold (£17.99), which is a dead ringer for Paco Rabanne's Lady Million (£65.50), and nSpa Orient (£8), which is a great alternative for Armani Code (£50.50). Follow
