the body shop honey bronze bronzing gel for face review

In need of a quick-fix solution to bring some warmth to your face this summer? Step right this way..

Whether it's a festival you're dancing your way around, a few days lazing on a lounger in the sun, or a month or so adventuring in far flung corners of the globe - summer inevitably calls for a lighter, pared down base. This nifty little product from The Body Shop delivers a hit of glowy tint that works well under or over foundation - or even better yet, flyin' solo.

The Honey Bronze Bronzing Gel For Face (yikes, there's a mouthful) is touted as a moisturising-but-not-sticky, honey (yum) enriched gel that gives an instant bronze glow. So far, so good. If you've yet to have gotten acquainted with anything from the Honey Bronze range I strongly suggest you hot-foot it over to your nearest store and stick your nose in some testers. Yep, your nose. This range smells GOOOOOOD. Ingredients-wise we're talking fair trade honey ethically sourced from Ethiopia with a helping hand from the 'bee whisperers' of Beza Mar (who are dedicated to improving the livelihood of Ethiopian beekeeping communities). So YAY for this.

(Side note: what do we reckon to my new 'bronde'?)

Back to the face gel - basically it racks up a bunch of potential uses. I tend to grab it after I've sorted out my moisturiser/SPF/primer and use a duo-fibre foundation brush (this one from MAC to be exact) to blend a smidge across the "high bits" of my face i.e. the bits that tend to tan. This generally means my forehead, nose and cheekbones get the tannin' treatment and I find that this lifts my complexion ready for my foundation to sit on.  Right now I'm favouring a super glowy bronzed skin with little else going on so after my base is sorted it's generally just a bit of brow tidying and some mascara to finish. Another nice little trick is to swirl a blob (actual technical term) with your daily dose of moisturiser to bring a little glowin' to your face. You can even sweep it over your foundation as a liquid bronzer/tan booster - how's that for multi-use?

If you're after a bit of a boost in the tan department up top then grab it. Because I GET that our faces see more attention so inevitably get paler, faster (whether the tan in question is real or fake) but it's still a pain in the ass. This stuff has been an everyday staple since I got my paws on it and frankly I don't see it getting relegated anytime soon - parrrrticularly with a month in Bali and Thailand coming up in August. Yes that was a holiday brag. And who wants to wear foundation on holiday when there's a ready made tan-in-a-tube kicking about?

Oh, and at the mo' there's £4 off!
