Magnitone BareFaced Cleansing Brush Review

Magnitone have switched things up with a cheeky new rebrand and a brand new addition to the line up.

Think deep pore cleansing, skin toning and lashings of all-natural g-l-o-w.

Okay, so first things first it's worth mentioning that I first got to grips with Magnitone a few months back - it was the first cleansing brush I ever tried and you can see exactly how I got on in this post. To cut a long story short - I loved it and became a complete convert, and I'm v-e-r-y picky about my skincare. Flash forward a few months and Magnitone got in touch to see if I wanted to give their new brush a whirl - the Barefaced! Vibra-Sonic Daily Cleansing Brush!

Obvs I said yes.

So what's in the box?

First, let's talk packaging because (call me a geek but..) I love a bit of clever wrapping. It feels much more streamlined compared to the huuge gift box my last brush came in and all the bits and pieces are nicely laid out over a few layers. Magnitone have also revamped their branding to something a little more playful so this thing is covered in quippy little puns and jokes - my favourite was on the bottom!

In terms of what you'll actually find inside - this thing is set up for pretty much anything. It's waterproof, has two settings (deep pore cleansing and toning), a timer (it beeps every 20 seconds so you can shift across your t-zone, cheeks and neck) and a waterproof case for travel.

Plus the charger is really cool. Wireless. And magnetic. It just clings to the handle whenever you need to give it a boost - and trust me that won't be often. The battery life on these things is kind of insane.

The basic premise of these brushes is that can do what your hands can't - using vibrations ("sonic oscillations" and "electromagnetic vibrations" appaz) to de-gunk your pores, boost circulation and tone skin. Your lotions and potions (you know, that fancy moisturiser you saw in a YouTube video that one time then bought on your last spree) sinks in properly and just generally does its thing more effectively. Everything should feel tighter, with an injection of glow to boot.

It takes one minute (only once a day) and you should start to see results within a week. Breakouts are to be expected over the first few days - your skin just needs to get used to it's new treatment (get involved with this post if you want more deets on what went down in my first week of using a cleansing brush). I tend use it in the morning (it's a pretty great way to wake yourself up) and then stick to my hyaluronic acid dragons blood cleansing pads in the evening. Oh yes, I totally fell for that hype, too.

To sum up my ramble - this basically feels like a much much neater, considered release than previous versions. It does exactly you need - daily cleansing with a toning mode - all wrapped up in a neat little piece of kit that has some handy features.. can you tell I'm still excited about the charger?
